Client: Concern Worldwide Malawi, Lilongwe City Council, and implementing NGOs as they established RESET programme.
RESET is an Irish Aid funded initiative that works with female entrepreneurs to establish ‘waste to wealth’ enterprises, with a particular focus on establishing small companies that produce and sell biogas.
Brief: To develop materials for the nascent programme that capture the programme’s tone and key messages.
Considerations:
- The logo should work well with the logos and brands of the participating NGOs.
- The logo should reference the work done by the programme.
- The design should be cognisant of the limitations associated with professional printing in Malawi, and should not include complex images that would be difficult to print.
Outcome:
The logo is based on the shape of a gas flame, emblematic of the biogas element of the programme and stands as a symbol of hope and new beginnings for the programme participants.
The colour transition is reminiscent of the colours found in a gas flame and hints at the transformation in the lives of the programme participants.
The text is in the DIN 2014 font, by Vasily Biryulov. As a clean font, it is friendly but still serious, capturing both the whole-of-community approach taken by the programme, and the seriousness and trustworthiness of the programme's partners.
